This week’s Wine Wednesday will be quick but enthusiastic. Last week I was craving a summery wine and decided that I wanted a French rosé. I walked out of my local LCBO with the Remy Pannier Rosé d’Anjou 2011, for $12.05.
I was really, really impressed. This Loire Valley charmer is the best rosé I’ve had in a long time. The Remy Pannier is luscious, refreshing, and fruity, with some lovely herbal hints to balance out the strong strawberry-and-watermelon note on the palate. It would be perfect with spicy BBQ chicken, fish, or Thai food. I know the $12 price point is higher than I usually suggest, but trust me — this wine’s worth it (especially in the US where it seems to retail for $7-10 a bottle). Delicious!

Um this sounds so good, especially since you recommended it paired with Thai — I’m craving Thai.
And it’s only 10.5% ABV! I love low-alcohol wines.
I really love the 10.5% ABV !! And the wine — was thrilled to discover this wine myself. White wine (well, both red and white actually) has been creeping up in alcohol content over the past 15 years. I for one am NOT looking for more punch in my leisurely summer sipping. Do you think there’s a list somewhere of old-school ABV level whites?
