I haven’t been this excited about a Wine Wednesday post in a while, guys. May I present: the 2010 Valréas Côtes du Rhône Villages red wine, available at Trader Joe’s for the fabulous price of $6.50.
I’m a big fan of Côtes du Rhône red blends, which tend to deliver good bang for your buck. This Valréas is a perfect example of what makes inexpensive Côtes du Rhône wines such a great value. It’s a lighter red, dry and slightly spicy, with raspberry and strawberry flavors and plenty of minerals and earth. It’s a wonderfully restrained and balanced wine for the price and it will pair well with everything from saucy Kansas City-style ribs to simple grilled veggies. If you feel like it’s too hot for a big, fruity Zinfandel or a Syrah, or if you’re just looking for a friendly and tasty wine that won’t overwhelm your food, this is the wine for you.

Will definitely give it a try! Mmm.
Bought one bottle — going back tomorrow for a case! Great bottle of wine. Had it tonight with marinara sauce and pasta – GREAT!
