I am safely in New Canadian City. Econo Man flew out the day after I arrived, and we proceeded to purchase and assemble IKEA furniture, break down boxes, and demand that the Garmin show us where we could purchase liquor. Posts on shopping for wine in Canada will be forthcoming.
But most importantly, after one failed install, followed by much toil and waiting on hold with the internet company, we finally have the internet in the new place! Huzzah!
So let me celebrate my return to the Internet by thanking everyone who left lovely comments on my last panicky post. I’m still a bit freaked about all of this, to be honest, but I’m trying to breathe deeply and cope with one thing at a time. The project for next week will be figuring out how to get my car registered in my new province. Wish me luck!

Yes, all these types of “getting settled” things seem to take so much energy. Glad you got there safely and are getting set up in your new city!
Welcome back! Hope the settling in is going well.
